One week of hectic preparation culminated in a rather fantastic and surprisingly large gathering. Inviting the members, preparing the banners, posters, questionnaire, arranging for refreshments etc...........plenty of homework had to be done to make the event a successful one. All the members, committee, volunteers and most importantly the youth brigade of the chapter worked in all earnest. After the event one could see the sigh of relief of a job well done on the faces of all concerned.
Attendance was great and one could see huge attendance of the young PWHs. Even as we began arranging the venue and getting the posters and banners up the guests started trickling in well in advance of the scheduled start. It heartening to see the invitees helping us to get the venue all decked up for the occasion.
A pediatric, an orthopedic and a medicine camps were arranged in no time. The function started off around 10.30am with an invocation song by Vishal and followed by the welcome address by Mr. Ramachandra. Mrs. Ranjana read the past year's activity report. It was followed by the approval of audited accounts. There was a special speech to introduce the 'Care' initiative for the CWH by Mr. Dharmendra. Finally the vote of thanks and then began the open clinics.
Specialist doctors attended and were all ears to the concerns of the PWHs. The PWHs were happy to get all the attention of the doctors in a relaxed environment. Some of the PWHs were prescribed medicine. Mr. Siju was having a very busy day attending to the PWHs and giving them tips on Physiotherapy.
A set of questionnaire containing questions covering a wide range of issues regarding the PWH was distributed to all attendees and it was well received and they were very enthusiastic in response. Our charged up volunteers were helping out
By around 2 in the afternoon the camp came to a close and the occassion was a huge success.
